9 x 9 = 81. 8 + 1 = 9
In Quantum physics, 9 signifies a complete Light Spirit, the most heavenly state of being. The 9 soul planes of our existence, with their own landscape and wisdom are:
physical - body and physical sensations
etheric - the energy body, our aura
mental - rational thought, one's beliefs and mental process
emotional - emotions
astral - spiritual insight into one's purpose and path on earth and one's consciousness as something eternal
atmic - realizing and feeling the interconnectedness of all things without the ego
monadic - knowing the divine spark within all beings, the true nature of things and potential
logoic - deeper association with Source of all consciousness and knowing
supernal - the highest state of being in pure Soul, God light consciousness
I believe we engage with most of these planes as we experience life. Choosing to explore their nature can bring a greater understanding of the depths of our own being, the dynamics of our inner world, the complex and rich tapestry of our own consciousness, our place and reason for being in this world and the interconnectedness of all existence.
The initial concept of the 9 x 9 ellipses appeared to me visually in my mind's eye, in its completion. This work began during the pandemic, as a gift of creative meditation providing a necessary grounding and inner peace amidst the turmoil of the outer world. The powerful number 9 carries its own magic and healing energy.
This work is an exploration/contemplation of the 9 soul planes of existence through my conscious and subconscious experiences of daily life felt and observed - as life and dream, desire and despair, safety and danger, beauty and brutality, rest and resistance, as discovered intuitively and expressed through the pure language of colour, within a precise, disciplined form. Each painting, created with its own associative guiding mystery of the 9 soul planes of existence, offers the viewer a moment of stillness, of contemplation, an invitation to evoke new perceptions, inspire, remember or just dream.
